How can I ascertain the circulation of an ezine without joining an
ezine directory service? I had learned how to do this for free a
month or so ago, and I can't remember how to do it. There's a way
to go to any Web site that offers an ezine and find out what its
circulation is. Can you find out how to do this for me?

If I remember correctly, the way I was able to ascertain the ezine
circulation before was through a search engine tool or utility. .
.sort of like the Alexa tool which gives you information about a web
site's traffic. With this link or utility, you could simply name the
web site containing the ezine, and it would tell you exactly how many
subscribers it had.

Greetings Tbilling,
I assume that you mean search engine tool as a website... would you
like us to find such search websites for ezines?

Yes, I would like a search engine website that can tell me what the
circulation of any ezine is.

One search engine for all ezines, you say... hmm, the thing is, what
I've found in my Internet searches were different ezine search pages
and directories with different listings of ezines. It's unlikely that
one ezine search engine would show ALL ezines, and most do not give
the circulation. There is at least one site that shows circulation for
the ezines, but not all entries show that figure (the space is blank).
Would you be satisfied with this and a list of other ezine search
sites as an answer?

No, because what I had viewed before wasn't an "exclusive" site for
ezines. It seems like it was a part of Google Guide, or a utility of
Google, or something like that. It seemed like all I had to do was
type in the URL, "http://www.googleguide.com/" then add the URL of the
web site, and the site's listing would show up including information
about the circulation of the ezine.

Aha, that's a clue you have....
I used the URL you gave, http://www.googleguide.com , and it brings
out a dialogue box with user name and password blanks. This is
something not even we Google Answers Researchers have access to, being
contractors of Google. Maybe it's in the Google Directory. I'll check
out what I can and get back to you with whatever I can find.

I'm the the author of Google Guide. It's a comprehensive 40-page
interactive tutorial that includes tips on searching, an overview of
Google's results, an introduction to Google's specialized search
services, and descriptions of how Google works. Google Guide is not
affiliated with nor endoresed by Google (but I am a big fan).

If Google hasn't yet indexed Google Guide, you'll need to enter its
URL, www.googleguide.com, directly into your browser to reach it.
