I have a new medical product that I want to distribute in the USA,
starting in New Orleans. The product is a sterilisable dish used in
operating theatres. I want to find out the medical equipment suppliers
used by major hospitals in New Orleans, which might be interested in
carrying my product.

A useful answer will be along the lines of:
"The major surgical hospitals in New Orleans are as follows. They
purchase their operating room supplies from these companies. Here are
contact details for the hospitals' supply departments and for the
medical supply companies I have identified."

I am looking for a total of at least four medical supply companies and
the major hospitals they supply. I am most interested in the companies
which supply more than one hospital.

To clarify: I need people who supply things like trays, scalpels,
gowns and so forth, not large items like MRI machines.

Hello -

I have found 3 companies that supply the majority of hospitals in the
area. Getting an exact list of the hospitals has proven to be very
difficult, if not impossible, since I'm not an actual vendor; I've
heard from one of these companies that they don't disclose this
information unless you're one.

Are you interested in the 3 companies as an answer?

Yes, if those are the three major companies that will do. I don't need
to know exactly which hospitals they supply individually, as long as I
know the hospitals they supply between them. That is, "These are the
major supply companies, and these are the major hospitals, each of
which is supplied by at least one of these companies."
Thanks.

Cold-called some hospitals, made inquiries

Clarification of Answer by jbf777-ga on 09 Jun 2003 21:52 PDT
Because I haven't contacted every single hospital, it is possible a
few of these might not be hit by these 3 main suppliers. However,
since these suppliers claim to supply the majority of hospitals, the
vast majority should be covered by least least one.
