Dear

  I am looking for a source which will provide me with the following specific 
  information.

  - A list of all embassies and Consulates around the world.
  - The name of the Ambassador/consulate general for each embassy /Consulate
  - The address, telephone number, Fax Number, e-mail address, and where it 
    applies the web site.
  - If embassy /consulate does not exist for particular country, embassy 
    which looks after affairs of country.
  - For each embassy/consulate visiting regulations for people of embassy 
    country to host country.

 PLEASE NOTE I do not wish Google Answers to provide me with the specific 
             information above. I am simply looking for a source. A web 
             site would be ideal. However somewhere where I could obtain a hard 
             copy (Embassey Directory) or transmittable file would also 
             suffice. What is more important is that the source is complete  
             in terms of what I have asked above. I do not expect it to be 
             completely up to date but should contain all relevant entries for 
             up to at least 6 weeks ago.

I've found a site that says it has "Absolutely all of the world's
embassies in a searchable database." Check this out and see if it's
the sort of thing you're looking for:

You can get a list of all the embassies and consulates *in* a certain
nation by selecting the nation in the box that says "In What
Location?" while leaving the box that says "Whose Embassy?" set on
"ANY." As an example, I chose "United States" for the "In What
Location" box and got this list of 668 nations who have embassies and
consulates in the US:

Or you can leave the "In Whose Location?" box set on "ANY" and select
a nation in the "Whose Embassy?" box, which will give a list of all
that nation's embassies and consulates worldwide. When I chose "United
States" for the "Whose Embassy?" box I got this list of 231 U.S.
Embassies and Consulates that are located in other nations:

You cannot leave both the boxes set on "ANY", which (if it could be
done) would produce a list of all embassies for all nations in all
locations, and I rather doubt that there's any online list that is set
up in this way.

I am not sure where we are with this. While some of the web sites are
somewhat
 relevant much of the information I am seeking is missing or
incomplete.
 For example even where a web site is present for an embassy it does
not always indicate who the ambassader is and the visa information may
not always be complete.

 It may well be what I am asking for will not come from one (or a few
) sources.

I also need to empahsize I am not looking for a fancy web site but the
specific information in my original quetion.
