the Fortune education summit held in 1988 and cites the November 7,
1988 issue.
"At a two-day education summit convened by Fortune Louis V. Gerstner,
Jr. (then President of American Express, now chairman and chief
executive officer of IBM) called for the adoption of "that famous
Noah Principle": "No more prizes for predicting rain. Prizes only for
building the arks."62
