Do you happen to know when George Plagge died?

Do you know his wife's name or the names of any of his children?

If so, please share that with me if you can. I believe I have found an
obituary for his wife, where he (and his preceeding death) is
mentioned. If so, I know exactly where they were both living at the
time of their deaths. It wasn't in Wisconsin though. Assuming this is
the same person (this is the only match I found) it should also be
noted that her obituary does mention the name a store where "she"
worked for some time, but it was located outside of Wisconsin.

If this is satisfactory I can post it for you as an answer, or if you
need his actual obituary I can tell you when/where he died and you can
check with the local paper, local funeral homes or the nursing home in
which they were living at the time to see if they still have his obit
on file. Unfortunately, I don't have direct access to it myself.

I will get to you with a year of death shortly. To the best of my
knowledge George remained a bachelor.

The date of death that the commenter so graciously mentioned below
while I was researching your question is also happens to be the same
of death of the man I mentioned in my clarification request above.

It is going to be a bit difficult to try to get an obituary notice for
this man since he apparently lived/died in a small towns area of IA
(Mason City) and usually small town newspapers don't keep back issues
of newspapers on file. Your best bet is to contact a family member
for more information, which the Google researcher promised to help you
get information from George's wife's obit.

As an alternative, you can visit the genealogy website
www.rootsweb.com, click on the "MESSAGE BOARDS" link, then find the
"FIND A MESSAGE BOARD" box and enter the word "UNKNOWN", which will
result in a page of links for various states--look at the end of each
list to find the message board for
"BOARDS--LOCALITIES--US--etc.--UNKNOWN--IOWA" and click on those blue
letters to find the message board where you can post your query. A
local genealogist in Iowa can search for the information you
requested.

SINCERELY,
