I need to know the number of students enrolled in New York City Public
Schools in 1945, 1950, 1955, and 1965.  For this question you can
answer one or all of those dates as long as your provide where you
found the information and the information is from a reliable source
that I could cite in a paper.

Difficult question. I found conflicting data among several reputable
sources even for the current student population.
