Can you provide any recent studies that examine the trends of
childrens internet browsing habits. The trends of types of sites
visited, amount of time on net versus tv and /or homework.

What region, country, culture, etc are you most interested in? Also,
can you be specific to an age group when you say "children"? Is
current data the only data you will accept? If you will accept past
studies, what maximum time frame is applicable?

US children. I am primarily interested in 6 to 12 but would be
interested in seeing other breakdowns as well. I am interested in any
studies that have been completed in the last 12 months but I am
particularly interested in the trends in the data, i.e. how it
compares to some other recent period. But I will take what I can get.
Thanks.

Hello Infopros. I lost track of time and went off on this one and came
up with a bunch of studies and articles that I thought would be of
interest to you. It was harder than expected to find real statistics
on the Internet usage of children. Some of these articles are dated,
but I didn't include any dated before the year 2000. Some of them are
not specificually related to your question, but I thought you might
find them interesting anyways so I included them.

The best one I found was a really comprehensive report called:
Connected to the Future - A report on childrens Internet use from the
Corporation for Public Broadcasting:

A summary can be found here
http://www.cpb.org/programs/pr.php?prn=314

The actual report in PDF format here

And study methodology here

And here's a number of other reports and studies of interest:

Hello Infopros. Thank you for the compliment and the tip. I might be
tempted to take you up on your offer for part time work, but it is
against Google guidelines for me to give out personal contact
information. However, feel free to ask for me by name (in the
question) if you post any other questions here. Thank you again.
