I am specifically looking for the northernmost and southernmost
longitudes and easternmost/westernmost latitudes. For Example:
Maui: North 1.23423 South 1.14433 East 32.12345 West 32.00567
I'm not really interested in links. I'm interested in an answer.

Hello again Mike,
The clickable map I gave you in my first link will give you the
information you need.
http://edcwww.cr.usgs.gov/Webglis/glisbin/checkbox_finder_map.pl?dataset_name=MAPS_LARGE&clat=20.5&clon=-157.5&zoompercent=3000
In addition, I have a call in to the US Geological Survey to get the
exact coordinates. Ill get back to you as soon as I have a response
from them. I was surprised that I could not readily find an official
Hawaii website that gives this information.
More soon. Thank you for your patience.

Hello again Mike,
I havent gotten a response yet from the USGS but heres a table of
the information I was able to put together from a variety of sources
for all the islands. I hope this will meet your needs. Ill post a
clarification when I get additional information from the USGS. Ive
included the sources for the information I put in the table. Good

I'm sorry about the formatting of the table. Google Answers doesn't
have a preview capability. I hope you can copy it into Word or some
other text processor so the cells line up correctly. My apologies for
the appearance.

Hi Mike,
Here's the answer I got from the USGS. I hope it will give you
everything you need. Good luck.
czh
In reviewing your request, I believe that using an Index to the
Hawaiian Islands
and our GNIS data base should answer your query and give you tools to
use in the future.
The Index shows all of the islands on your list and prominent
locations on each island are identified. You may then extrapolate the
longitude and latitude from the index or use the GNIS data base to
identify the longitude and latitude of the locations you have chosen.
The index for the state of Hawaii may be down loaded at:
http://www.omnimap.com/catalog/usgs2/idxdown.htm
I did have some difficulty trying to down load this particular file so
should you need a hard copy of the index, please email me your mailing
address and I will put a copy in the mail for you. (Please note the
rectangles that identify each of the brown squares on the index are at
7.5' intervals)
The GNIS data base may be found at:
http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form
In most cases the feature name and the state are all that is necessary
to identify the location that is of interest. Should there be a long
list using the same name click on the best choice and the system will
give you information
including the longitude and latitude for that location.
Please let me know if I may be of further help.
