When my Laptop is hooked up to my office network i want it to hook up
to the exchange server and check my pop yahoo account.
When I am travelling/home/or out of office i want outlook to check my
pop yahoo account and my office mail pop account.

Clarification of Question by cokerit-ga on 10 Jun 2003 13:49 PDT
To make it more clear,
as of now my outlook has three mail accounts
1.office exchange server account
2.pop yahoo mail account
3.office pop mail account.

when i click "send and recieve" it does all three while only two is
sufficient.

while i am hooked up to my office network i want it to work with the
exchange server and check my pop yahoo account only.

When I am home/or out of office i want outlook to check my
pop yahoo account and my office mail pop account only.

is it possible to setup Outlook to handle that automatically based on
what connection i am in??

Hi there.
This should be quite straightforward.
Do you use separate connections for the office and home (maybe,
network card and dialup modem) or is it connected through one network
card and automatically detects the office network or Cable/DSL modem?

Yes for both.
it has a built-in network card which works with both my home cable and
office network connections. I also use VPM dialup service when i am
away from both home and office.
I think the logic is

if(connected to office)
{
 check exchange server
 check yahoo pop
}
else(anyother connection home/desert/hill)
{
 check office pop account
 check yahoo pop
}

Hope that clarifies
thanks

Ok like i found out the hard way, Outlook 2000 does not support
talking to POP accoutn and exchange at the same time, ud have to
upgrade to Outlook XP. In Outlook XP you can specify startup profiles.
Profile one can contain your Xchange account and Yahoo POP account and
profile two can contain both the pop accounts. When you are at office
and startup Outlook, u can use profile one and when away u can use
profile two. Lemme know if u need exact help, I am doing something
similar right now with my mails.
