What sort of engine is this? An automobile engine? It would be very
helpful if you could give us as many details as you can.

larita,

For anyone to be able to help you identify your engine, you will have
to make sure you are providing the actual CASTING NUMBER for the
block. The number you have provided does not seem to be a casting
number.

Casting Number

"Part number cast into a part as it is produced. Many castings also
have a date code cast into the part as well. Parts such as blocks,
manifolds, heads, transmission cases, differential cases and many more
have casting numbers that identify them as particular to certain
applications. On most Chevrolet blocks the casting number is located
on the bellhousing flange behind the driver's side head. This can
usually be seen even with ignition shielding in place."

It should be a 7-digit number and possibly a 2 digit letter-number
date code.

Give us that number, and I'm sure someone will be able to help you.

Hi Larita,

Are you still interested in having someone track down your engine
information? If so, let us know what that casting number is and we can
help.

Thanks -

GM blocks do not use letters in the casting numbers, so you might want
to recheck what you have.
Here is website with casting nubmers for blocks.

Here is a site so that you can decode your VIN number.
