I am searching for the text of a psychology article written by an
author in the pacific northwest over ten years ago. The article
exclusively addresses refreshing human memory/recollection and gives
some suggestions at doing same. Can you lead me to the article itself?

Hello--

Is there anything else you can tell us about this article? Do you
remember the author? Any particular group you remember being cited in
the piece? Do you happen to have any idea what the name of the
publication was?

Any other information you can give would help greatly.

I can tell you that it was a very well written article concerning
refreshing recollection and that it gave examples of how to refresh
recollection. I DON'T KNOW THE AUTHOR'S name.I don't know the name of
the journal or publication in which it appeared. I know the article
received the attention of newsgroups because it was cited on the
radio. I haven't had the time to visit the library in an attempt to
find the article in a periodical index.

Let's see whether we can refresh your recollection. ;-) Do you
remember any specific examples of the author's suggestions as to how
to refresh recollection? Can you recall any phrases (even
approximately) that were used in the article? Also, why do you think
that the author was from the Pacific Northwest? Do you have an idea
which newsgroup(s) you were reading that would have reported this
article?

Hi Doctorlawyer -

In the mid- to late-80s there was a lot of interest in the
admissability (sp?) of "refreshed memories" in courts. These were
based on testimonies taken after hypnosis, where subjects were asked
to remember what had happened. Do you remember if the article you
want dealt specifically with this type of recollection technique
(i.e., hypnosis)?

Thanks,

- librariankt

KMOX radio in St. Louis, MO reported the content of the article with
some detail and stated that the author was from the Pacific
Northwest-Oregon I believe. My uncle teaches at Rice in psychology and
he didn't know the author..now I'm sure that I cannot recall this
authors name. Since the content of the article was reported to me I
don't know that any phrase will be of help to you .
