I have some pre-existing conditions, namely fibromyalgia and allergies, and am looking for a new individual health insurance plan. I currently have Pacificare POS plan, which unfortunately will be discontinued Sept. 1st of this year. They offered to move me into their HMO plan automatically upon discontinuation of my current plan, but I have been pretty unhappy with them and the HMO plan they have stinks. I am wondering if there are any other plans out there, PPO or HMO, that are better than the option I have with Pacificare, and that would accept me with the conditions I have. I'm also wondering if I could somehow get on Kaiser's Plan. I heard that there were groups and associations one could join that would then enable you to join Kaiser. I'm interested in learning about this. I already know about Care Entree and am not interested in that option. Anyone have any ideas? | |

Hi nerv, I know of a fantastic insurance company... It's called American Republic... They don't operate in every state so check coverage. Also not sure about pre-existing conditions, but they have several different plans. What makes them so great is the customer service and the fact they have a policy to pay every claim promptly and ask questions later. Not meaning they pay obvious exclusions, but if it's a grey area, they pay, quickly. Their rates are not cheap either, because they have great coverage. They even pay for Viagra... Kaiser dominates in Socal, but I have Blue cross and am happy with my PPO. |
