My family owns a 1994 Jeep Cherokee (60,000 mostly short-range miles)
with several attributes that we like very much: a strong, 4-cylinder
engine, manual transmission, a back seat that folds all the way down.
After an extensive search, we've found nothing out there that meets
all these requirements. Economically, does it make sense to spend up
to $3,000 on an overhaul of engine, body and a few mechanical items if
we believe (or maybe just hope) that it will buy us another five or ten
years or fairly robust, working-family use? What criteria should we
use to make this judgment? |
