I published a book in 1994 on self-employment, which has been
regularly updated, in which I said "ninety-nine percent of the people
in the world should be working for somebody else". I've been asked if
this is a quotation from someone else and (a) cant now remember and
(b) cannot find any reference anywhere. Can you find a source other
than me?

Hi frankwd,

This is perhaps not the most reputable source on the subject, but
trendsetters.com has some statistics on the percentage of
self-employed people in the US.

http://www.trendsetters.com/economy-trend/9001,1,self-employed.html

How exactly would one prove how many self employed people there are in
the world? The statistics are reasonably easy to get for developed
countries, but what about underdeveloped ones?

In short, what sort of 'proof' are you after?

Thanks for response. I don't want the quotation proven, thankyou - I
was only after a source for the actual quotation. I can't remember now
if I worte it myself or if I copied it from somewhere! So any advice
on the source fo the quoatation would be very well received.
