I would like to find out what the average click rate is for each of the top ten positions. For example if you search on "day rtading" what % of clicks go to each position (1st .. 2nd.. 3rd..4th.. etc. Also what % of overall clicks are on teh first page of a search. | |

I knew I had seen it somewhere... When placing a PPC ad at Kanoodle, they tell you that: "The #1 Listing typically receives 2.5 more clicks than the #2 listing and 4 times the amount of clicks as the number 3 listing." I figure that would apply for all search engines. I was unable to locate any serious study on the subject, although I have read one or two of a few years ago. I recall that the bottom listing always does well. On my websites, when I make a list of links, my top four favorites on a topic get placed in this order so that they will get noticed more... 1st, 2nd, 3rd, last. |
