Is the word "miscommunicate" a valid word? No dictionary listings can
be found, however, the word "miscommunication" is found. How can you
have miscommunication without the ability to miscommunicate? Would it
be proper to say: I miscommunicated the facts of this case? Thanks!

Hello robintx-ga,

The editors of the Oxford English Dictionary decided last year to add
"miscommunicate" (as well as "miscommunication") to the dictionary.

"New Edition: mis- to mitzvah"
Oxford English Dictionary
http://dictionary.oed.com/public/help/Dict/Quarterly/mis-mitzvah.htm

In addition, the people at Infoplease view it as a word.

"mis•com•mu•ni•cate"
Infoplease
http://www.infoplease.com/ipd/A0539462.html

Perhaps other dictionaries will catch up in subsequent editions!
