Burning Audio CD's using Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 3.0 results in bad static/interference on the newly burnt CD. The CD plays on my home stereo system OK but on Portable CD Players a lot of background static is heard rendering the CD useless, nor will it play AT ALL on my Car CD.I have recently updated my PC to Windows XP Professional/MAGIX AUDIO CLEANING LAB 3.0 (Previously: Windows ME/Magix Audio Cleaning Lab[NOT 3.0], all of which worked perfectly). The problem has only arisen since I upgraded to XP/Magix 3.0 etc. My CD-ROM drive is (D:) Samsung CD-ROM SC-152C which Magix shows a screen saying "Your CD Drive is not supported" each time I try to use it to IMPORT an Audio CD, but I do not think this is the problem as I get the static even when I am not using the CD-ROM drive. My CD-RW burner is (E:) Philips DVD/CD-R/RW-PCRW 804 which is definitely compatible with XP but ??? with Magix. Could somebody help me solve this problem as My CD's must be made to play on a Portable CD Player for I use them as accompaniment for my singing engagements. Many thanks! | |

Hi, Just a thought, but are you using CDR or CDRW media? Many portable devices, and indeed many older hifi systems can't cope with rewriteable discs. If you're currently using CDRW rewriteables, try basic CDR writeables instead. Poe |

Hi! I am apologising just in case, as I do not want to seem ungrateful if I did not answer to you. I had 2 replies, each requiring clarification. I replied promptly, as I thought, collectively, to the 2 enquiries, but now I feel I may have answered only 1. So will reply again as previously, with apologies if necessary. Clarification: 1] I always burn my CD's as slowly as possible - viz. 1x (approx. 99%) 2] I create my CD's from 2 sources: a) By playing an Audio Cassette via line in, (using various portable CD players: Sony Stereo Walkman & Sharp Stereo Portable Cassette Player) into IMPORT Section of Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 3.0, then editing as necessary (Cleaning-Altering Pitch- Altering Speed etc.) and then burning the edited WAV. music file using Magic AC Lab 3.0 Export (CD burning) Section. I get the same result (interference etc.) regardless whether I Edit/Clean and/or leave the cassette tape recording in it's originally recorded state. b) I infrequently use CD to CD copying, but when I do I still end up the same type of imperfect CD's. For 'Copy CD' operations I use Roxio Easy CD & DVD Creator, Version 6, mainly because I do not find it necessary to edit when direct CD copying. Another problem I encounter when trying to use the combination of Magix 3.0 Import Section/CD-ROM Drive D: is that Magix displays a sign stating - "Your CD Drive is not supported" - thereby recjecting that option. My 2 CD Drives are: 1) CD-ROM (D:): Samsung CD-ROM SC-152C CS05 and 2) CD-RW (E:): Philips DVD/CD-R/RW-PCRW 804. My PC Specifications are: Pentium III 2x40 GB Hard Drives (C:) & (F:) 512mb RAM 3]I use varying quality Blanks (CD-R only) ranging from cheap to expensive (x12, x16 up to x40) but all end up with a similar bad result. I had burnt flawless CD's for approx. 3 years using - Adaptec Easy CD Creatorv4.02c + Direct CDv3.01c (Version 00-07) and Magix Audio Cleaning Lab (nil version No.) which always played well on any type of CD player (Car/Portable/Home Hi-Fi etc.) but I am Now getting duds everytime since updating to: Windows XP Professional (including Service Pack 1 & all available updates installed) - Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 3.0 (incl. update) - Roxio CD & DVD Creator, Version 6. (Note! Roxio is ex Adaptec) Thank you very much for your attempt at helping me and hope my answers help you to solve my problem. I wish you well. Yours Sincerely, birdsnest-ga |

Hi! I had a client that had a Dell computer that had similiar problems with his audio popping whenever he used played music on his computer. The following tips solved his problems. Advance Settings to tweak with. 1. Digital Audio Input. Go to Device Manager (right click my computer, properties, hardware tab, device manager). Double click on DVD/CDrom drives, right click on the Samsung/Philips CDrom properties and enable digital audio. 2. DMA transfer mode. Go to Device Manager. Double click on IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. Do this for both Primary and Secondary IDE Channels. Right click for properties and go to the advance settings tab for both device. Set the tranfer mode to DMA if available. A few other things: Make sure the firmware on your cdrom are up to date. Some new CDs have audio copy protection that creates noise on the CDr you burn, try copying a very old CD as test reference. Good Luck. |
