What kind of truck is it, and what country are you in?

Do you already have the supercharger kit, and need to know how to install it?

Or are you looking to purchase a kit for your particular truck?

I have a 1990 nissan safari 4.200 diesel 4*4 I live in New Zealand.
No. I do not have a kit. I am trying to find the costss & if the
benefits are going to be worth it

Does it need to be a supercharger or would a turbo be acceptable?

Neddy-ga,

What I'm picking up so far is this:

--true supercharger kits generally run in the $3,000 - $5,000 range
(US Dollars).

--there are other technologies that call themselves "superchargers"
that are far cheaper -- no one seems to take them seriously though.

--true supercharging can really stress your components -- there are
different opinions as to whether a vehicle can be succesfully
retrofitted without inflicting some damage over the long term

--diesels seem rarely to be supercharged...it seems to have to do with
the fact that the design of a diesel already has a good bit of
"supercharger" technology built in at the get-go.

--I haven't been able to find a kit for supercharging a 4.2L diesel,
and I rather doubt that one exists.

--given all this, can you offer any additional guidance as to how you
would like the researchers here to pursue your question.

Thanks.

I have found several -turbo-charging kits for the 4.2L diesel Nissan
Safari but I have had less luck getting information on a supercharger
for the same vehicle. The benefits that have been listed for these
turbo kits have been listed as being (depending on the particular kit)
15% to 60% increases in both torque and power. Would this information
be of value to you?

Diesels are almost NEVER supercharged - the way the fuel combusts
prevents any further modification without damaging the engine itself.
