Hi,

I've got a USB keychain drive and would like to make better use of it.
I'm already storing passwords on it using passwordsafe
(http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/).

Ideally, I'd like three things:
 1. When I plug in my keychain, I'd like a sequence of events to occur
- including opening my stocktrading webpage.
 2. I'd like an encrypted portion of the harddrive on the host
computer to mount itself and become available.
 3. I'd like an encrypted portion of the usb keychain to appear as a
harddrive that I can copy things too and from.

I'm using Windows 2000.
Answer
There is no answer at this time.

I suppose a batch file would work?

Yeah, I was thinking that plugging in the keychain should cause a
batch file to run... part of the answer would be how to set that up.
Thanks,
Rudy

Hmm... I did a lot of looking for an answer to this, and it seems that
there isn't any simple way of making a USB drive automatically launch
an application. Normally with a CD you can create an autorun.inf file
which would load any applications you want. Unfortunately, due to the
way that Windows loads USB flash drives, the autorun file doesn't do
anything.

There may be an application out there that can watch for the drive
connection and then run an application, but I wasn't able to find one.

Good luck.

Thanks for looking for me. Hopefully another researcher will find
something, but I appreciate your effort.
