Helllo. I'm considering purchasing a Promise FastTrak TX2000 RAID
controller in the future to create a striped RAID 0 array accross 4
40GB hard drives. I'm currently running on 2 80GB hard drives.

What I am looking for is an easy way to transfer my existing data from
my two 80GB hard drives to the RAID array. I have various pieces of
software at my disposal including Norton Ghost and PowerQuest Drive
Image. I require a fast and secure way to transfer my existing setup
onto a single RAID array.

I'd also like to add that I would like to keep my partitioning the
same. So far I have 2 80GB seagates partitioned as follows, as seen by
Partition Magic 2002:

The boot drive, Primary Master:
C: 14,998.2MB NTFS Primary
2,400.3 Linux Ext2 Primary
2,400.3 Linux Ext2 Primary
56,517.7 Extended, Consisting Of:
1,004.0 Linux Swap
E: 20,512.7 NTFS
F: 35,001.0 NTFS

And the second drive, Primary Slave:
D: 38,162.4 NTFS Primary
38,146.5 Extended, Consisting Of:
G: 38,146.5 NTFS

I'd like to keep all my drives in the same order somehow, but i get
very confused with this...

basically I'm looking for a way to merge my existing setup together
into one image so I can transfer it onto the array I'll create.

will they be seperate machines? if so, just an ethernet link bewteen
them. The RAID setup will require the new drives to start fresh. You
should be able to add the 80 HD to the system after the raid is setup
and it will see it as a seperate drive, depending on the OS.

No what I'm looking to do is replace my current setup of 2 80GB drives
on my primary IDE channel with a 4-drive RAID 0 array. I'm just
looking for a way to transfer my data completely accross from the two
80s to the array before removing them from the system permanantly.
Theoretically I could just use windows but i'd prefer to use something
that images the entire drive...
