Just a helpful hint here to save you some time - I'm actually not in a
position to do this for you as I am not located in the DC area myself,
but it might be helpful if you clarify (specifically) what the tests
results should indicate. That is, what tests should be conducted and
what it is exactly that you'd be expecting the results to yeild. I
would imagine that "Tested for what?" will be the first question each
of them will ask a researcher.

Thanks for that note. Actually, a lab should be able to do blood and
urine testing and give a report without looking for anything in
particular.
For example, its always part of your annual physical.

Well, actually, they *are* testing for specific things when you have a
blood or urine test as part of a physical.
Regardless, do you need to know this info about all the labs on your
list, or would being directed to 1-3 labs on the list that don't need
a doctor's order be sufficient?

well, you got me there!
anyway, more than one, less than 4 labs that say they will do the
tests w/o doctors orders would be a 5 star

I cannot call the labs, since I have a hearing loss that prevents me
from using the telephone, but I thought you might want to consider
using an online service like this one:
http://www.directlabs.com/
More information about how online laboratory services work:
"Companies such as Direct Laboratory Services, Inc., Mandeville, LA,
provide direct testing in which consumers log into a website and
choose from a menu of tests for several disorders, including diabetes,
lyme disease, hepatitis, and prostate cancer. Upon selecting the
desired test, the customer is directed to a local lab in their area
where the test is performed. The tests ordered are the same lab tests
ordered by physicians and analyzed by the same certified, accredited
clinical laboratories."

Other online services that can arrange blood tests without a doctor's
orders are Quest Diagnostics' "QuesTest" and "Healthcheck USA."
