I need to find out the value (NADA?) of this boat along with any reliability reports on it. It has a Mercury Marine Oil Injection 120HP inboard jet drive and is 16" long. Supposedly in very good condition. Thanks! |

Hi Solari-ga. As a qualified skipper, I suggest you treat the hulkl and motor as separate items. If you can afford it, have a marine surveyor check the hull for faults. e.g. Osmosis in fibreglass, corrosion and stress cracks in aliminium, caulking and ribs in timber. A good experienced mechanic can check out the motor in regards to compression, and a good visual inspection can tell you of any external corrosion present. If its an outboard, its a good idea tpo have the water pump impeller replaced whether its needed or not. In doing this, the seals of the leg can be renewed. To save money, Do you have any mates//friends that have bought and sold boats aned have some experience. To see if you are getting value for money, check similar rigs in various dealers yards. Hope I have been of some help,. |
