The Department of Bioengineering at the University of California, San
Diego, is part of the Jacobs School of Engineering. The closest thing
to what you describe is the Jacobs Engineering Scholarship, which is
not specific to the Department of Bioengineering. The amount of the
scholarship varies every year with changes in University fees. It's
currently $18,060 per year, so four years would be $72,240. About
twelve of these scholarships are awarded per year.

Search Strategy

Searching Google for "uc san diego" took me the campus's web site.

I then clicked on Departments, B, and Bioengineering to get to the
Bioengineering Department's home page. I then clicked on Contact and
got a list of department phone numbers at:

http://www-bioeng.ucsd.edu/contact/

I called the General Information number for the department and got
transferred through the Bioengineering Student Affairs and campuswide
Financial Aid offices before I got to the Scholarship Office that
provided the information above.

I hope this information is helpful. If it does not answer your
question adequately, please ask for a clarification.
