I’m programming an MDI application using C# and Visual Studio.NET. The
parent form 'SystemShell' has a child form "TextManagerScreen".
TextManagerScreen has a MenuItem that brings up "LookupBy" form.
LookupBy should be displayed like a modal window in that it is not
full-screen and that it must first be closed before any of the other
open windows can be used again. It should also be like an MDI child in
that it does not show up as a second open application on the taskbar
at the bottom of the screen. This question will be considered answered
with sample code in C# that functions like the situation described
above and which I can extrapolate to solve my problem.

Also, less complex = better. :)

Additionally, time is a concern for me. I very much want to be able to
move forward with the project I'm working on. I don't suspect this is
an exceptionally difficult problem. An experienced programmer should
be able to answer this question easily enough with only a modest
investment of time. I just don't have the time myself to do all the
searching around. I really appreciate all/any help :)

To help generate interest, I've upped my list price from $10 to $20. I
wish I could offer more, but I'm afraid I'm not getting paid for this
project. I'm paying out of my own pocket. I wouldn't be able to
justify paying any more than this. Plus, it's not an extremely
difficult problem... just tedious. If I had to, I could figure it out,
but I'm afraid I'm not yet experienced enough to figure out this
little puzzle in a timely fashion. I implore anyone to offer their
expertise and to take this chance to grab a quick 20 bucks! :)

Thanks to everyone in advance! *grin*

I have a solution for you - but am not a researcher! Could use the
$20 though... Any legitimate way to move forward, or do I just do
this for free?

Hi Jason,

Thank you for your inquiry. I don't believe Google Answers has
anything built in for transactions not involving researchers, but if
you were able to provide a solution to my problem before a researcher
did, I'd absolutely agree to pay you the $20. I'd just close my
question and send you the $ by snail-mail. We would have to work it
out between just the two of us, however, because Google doesn't
facilitate this kind of trade. It's on the Honor system... but If I
didn't follow through with compensation, you could always get back at
me by leaving all kinds of nasty comments about me on this page
thereby making all kinds of other people not trust me in the future,
lol.

There is no way for me to prove that you can trust me. But I'll
promise you anyway. I pay my debts and I'd be very happy to compensate
you the $20 I offered for the solution to my question. The only
additional thing would be that I would want a complete answer to my
question (with code) and I would want to be able to, if needed, ask
you for clarifications and what-not as I would be able to with a
researcher.

If this type of arrangement sounds agreeable to you, please post your
agreement and a way to contact you (perhaps an AIM or MSN name?) as a
comment on this page. Once we've made contact and figured out some of
the details of a transaction, I'll close my question so we can work
out the rest.

I look forward to hearing from you again soon :)
