Hello spitfire,
Thank you for your question.
Unfortunately, Google Answers terms of service prohibit us from
posting personal information on indivduals. However, most authors have
arrangements with their publishers for forwarding of mail or email.
Mr. Berg is published by the Putnam Publishing Group, which is now a
part of the Penguin Group. They are a little less flexible than some
other publishers with relaying messages, but note the following on
their contact pages:

Contact Our Authors
Unfortunately, email is not forwarded to authors, nor can we give out
personal mail or email addresses for our authors. To write to an
author, please follow the instructions below.
For adult titles, simply write to:

For juvenile titles, simply write to:

For a list of imprints, click here.
Note: The imprint can be found on either the spine or the copyright
page.
Checking their imprints, I find that "G.P. Putnam's Sons" should be
appropriate for mail to be forwarded to Mr. Berg.
There is a message on a Google Group, rec.collecting.books, where a
poster has noted success with contacting authors by mail. Mr. Berg is
included in that list:

Search Strategy:
"A. Scott Berg" +email OR publisher OR contact
Google Groups: "A. Scott Berg"
I trust my research has provided you with a method of reaching Mr.
Berg. If a link above should fail to work or anything require further
explanation or research, please do post a Request for Clarification
prior to rating the answer and closing the question and I will be
pleased to assist further.
