Greetings Fabiete: I found a great calculator for your answer at http://eh.net/hmit/ppowerusd/ titled "How much is that worth today?" There are two ways there to calculate: 1. How much money today has the same "purchasing power" as $__.__ in the year ___? and 2. How much money in the year ___ has the same "purchasing power" as $__.__ in the year ___? I used the first calculator and entered all your years for these results: $25.61 in the year 2002 has the same "purchase power" as $1.00 in the year 1750. $14.25 in the year 2002 has the same "purchase power" as $1.00 in the year 1800. $22.89 in the year 2002 has the same "purchase power" as $1.00 in the year 1850. $21.30 in the year 2002 has the same "purchase power" as $1.00 in the year 1900. $10.25 in the year 2002 has the same "purchase power" as $1.00 in the year 1925. $7.47 in the year 2002 has the same "purchase power" as $1.00 in the year 1950. $3.35 in the year 2002 has the same "purchase power" as $1.00 in the year 1975. $1.04 in the year 2002 has the same "purchase power" as $1.00 in the year 2000. The calculator only went to 2002. You may also want to see "What is relative value today at http://eh.net/hmit/compare/ where there are five choices using either the CPI, GDP Deflator, Unskilled Wage, GDP Per Capita and (relative share of) GDP. Thanks for asking this interesting question! Should you require clarification of the information, please request it and I will be happy to respond. SEARCH STRATEGY: worth of a dollar in the past |
