I was looking to hook up my computer to a TV set. Only I don't want to replace my existing AGP video card to do this. I need an auxiliary CATV video output that hooks up to a PCI slot or USB/USB2, so I can have the same screen on the PC Monitor and the TV at the same time. If that doesn't exist, an S-Video-to-CATV or DVI-to-CATV (or VGA-to-CATV as a last resort) converter would also solve my problem. Lowest price and best quality solution is, of course, best =) Thnx. | |

Hello, Hauppage has two cards that will allow you to use a TV input and drive either a regular monitor or a digital TV, while watching TV on the PC as well (see towards the bottom of the page, from the bottom, card's 3 and 4) http://www.hauppauge.com/html/products.htm#digital Here's a product that will allow you to use the USB port to run a video out: http://www.datapro.net/products/UV-100.html From another source: http://www.nanosys1.com/usb-gwc-uv-100.html Perhaps a video splitter attatched to the output of your computer: http://www.provantage.com/scripts/go.dll/-s/ffvidspl Which could then connect to an RF modulator or SVGA-to-S-video for TV output: http://www.smarthome.com/7743.html Would also work. If none of these are what you're looking for, request a clarification and I'll help find something more suitable. synarchy Search strategy "auxiliary video out" usb-to-catv usb-to-video modulator svga |

You guys are the best. Gave me info on everything I asked. Also I would like to thank elmarto-ga (who only posted a "Request for Question Clarification", not an "Answer") for giving the simplest and cheapest solution, to use an S-Video-to-RCA converter. Thanks a bunch. |
