Hello,
I am after some common sense and practical advice. I am planning to
set up a "low cost" technology research business (focusing primarily
on IT) . My planned business model is to get commissions from the
established players in the field (such as IDC, Gartner etc). I am
thinking of offering to do some work for free to demonstrate the
potential value of my business.

My specific questions are:
a. Is this a valid approach and how can it be improved?
b. How should I approach the established companies for work?
c. Any other relevant advice or comments would be most welcome.

Many thanks for your help in advance.
Annika
