Additional Sites and Background Information

The property that is now Turtle Bay Resort was developed in 1972 by
Del Webb, the legendary Arizona developer of Sun City and many other
properties.  After Webb was unable to get a gambling license for the
property, it was sold to Prudential Insurance, which hired Hyatt to
manage it.  It was resold in the early 1980's to a Japanese company,
Asahi Jyuken, which hired Hilton as manager.  As noted above, it was
sold to Oaktree Capital Management in 1998.

history and describing the "final phase" in the resort's $50 million
renovation:
