Hi, I'm assisting in the planning for a medical sector services company web site and I was interested in finding resources online which would license their content to appear under that site and be used by its users/customers. I found www.webmd.com for example, but didn't find their licensing information. Similar services are of interest as well as their licensing info. Thank you. /Lizardnation | |

Hi! Thanks for another question. After further research it seems that there are more medical websites which gives information as regards to content licensing. Such sites are listed below: Medicine Net http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=17260 ADAM http://www.adam.com/b2b/products/products.htm HealthWise http://www.healthwise.org/p_web-content.html Health Center http://www2.health-center.com/about/licensing/default.htm Healthology http://www.healthology.com/about_us.asp?b=healthology MDLinx http://www.mdlinx.com/content_licensing.cfm ECureme http://www.electroniccontent.com/ecureme.cfm NewsRX http://www.newsrx.net/Corporate_Profile.htm Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, Inc http://www.lww.com/static/licensing/ Medem Medical Content Licensing http://www.medem.com/io/io_medicalcenters.cfm#sec_2 I only found one resource (MEDLINE Plus) which provides free content but actually you only link to the site and you are even prohibited from using frames to get the information. When a user of yours click on the link, a new window will open to get to the MEDLINE website. Medline Plus http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/linking.html Here are the medical information websites which does not give out information on how to license their content. I will direct you to their contact pages so you could directly email them and inquire about their policies. WebMD http://www.webmd.com/corporate/index.html http://www.webmd.com/corporate/content/contact.us/content.contacts.html (Contact Page) Medicine Online http://www.mol.net/contact.asp Mayo Clinic http://www.mayoclinic.com/login/invoke.cfm?objectid=83582088-5E39-4273-8194DA5A7A0DA4F4 Johns Hopkins Health Information http://www.hopkinshealth.com/about/ContactUs.asp Search terms used: medical information content licensing website I hope these links would help you in your research once more.
