I use FileMaker Pro for Mac OSX in an office running OS9 on
everything. When I try to open a list from the Host computer (a G3
server) my computer doesn't see the Remote Host. Everything else is
connecting fine, and I can connect to the Server with my computer, but
FileMaker doesn't see it. I've run the gamut of answers that came with
FileMaker Pro Help. Anybody know why this isn't working?

What versions of FileMaker Server on the G3) and Filemaker (on the OS9
machiens( are you using? And do you mean you can't see any files in
the open dialog when ou click on hosts?

I believe the server is running 5.5. Some OS9 machines are running 4.1
and some 5.5 and they don't have any problems. And yes, I can't see
any files in the open dialog when I click 'hosts." I had read on the
FM forums that other people had encountered a similar problem when
they brought their OSX machine to use FM with the OS9 machines and
they said to switch all the protocols to TCP/IP which I finally got
them to do this morning. Unfortunately it hasn't helped. Everything is
the same even after I've restarted my laptop and reset everything.
It's getting desperate because I can't update my sales list without a
hookup. Despite this inconvenience I still have to say OSX is the
greatest operating system.
