I would like to learn more about photography and possibly do it
professionally. I would like to find a program that doesn't involve
years of college. I am looking for an intensive situation that would
give me a jump start. It could be anywhere. Can you help me find a
reputable program or let me know if there is one?

Hi,

I am a photographer and found the "New York Institute of Photography"
to cover all aspects of photography for the novice looking to move up
towards professional. I highly recommend them. It's been a few years
since I took their course and I believe the tuition was around $800.
They deliver more than is required for a course and cover every topic
you would need from basic to advanced.

They also have assignments you do and return in the mail to
professional instructors who critique and give you feedback both on
audio cassette and written. There is also a payment plan for the
course so it is affordable.

They cover photography as a career and a hobby which helps a great
deal. You choose how you want to proceed.

I'm sure many things have been updated to reflect changing times but
the basics of photography never change. Give them a call and they can
answer your questions.

It's a great investment b/c you receive manuals to work with, some
props, and tools that you keep forever. I still have mine (along with
my many photography reference books) and refer to the manuals every
now and again as there is a lot of useful information in there.

Hope this helps in your search.

Visit their website: http://www.nyip.com/gen_info/enrollnow.html

Good luck!
