I am searching for the printer code to put a Canon i70 into landscape
mode. The printer appears to accept ESC/P2 printer commands
(originally developed by Epson) and will print fine in portrait mode
with these commands. However, there is no code to switch the printer
into landscape mode in the ESC/P2 specification (it was designed for
dot matrix printers).

However, my understanding is that the Canon printer excepts a superset
of the original ESC/P2 called "Canon extended LQ mode". I am looking
for the ESC code to put the printer into landscape mode using this
extended superset.

Hello scotru,

Since I can not test this to be positive of the result, I am posting
as a comment rather than an answer. Should it work, please inform me
so that I can post as the answer and also supply you with all the
other possible ESC codes.

Just post a clarification and I will be notified of your post.

Thanks for your response. Alas, no, it appears that this code does
not work on the Canon i70. I am beginning to fear that there isn't a
way to do this in LQ (ESC/P2) emulation mode and that the only
solution lies in BJ mode--which the driver I am using does not
support. Let me know if you run across any other codes to try.
Thanks!
