I need support recovering data from hard disk.
I deleted files from my back-up HD to free space. However, I cannot
access the HD any more, probably because of deleting System Volume
Information. The HD is NOT my working bootable HD. The files deleted
do not have to be restored, but the rest of it.
Treeinformation is no longer available. There is no physical damage of
the HD. Under WinXP I cannot access the HD anymore after deleting and
rebooting (there was no probleme before rebooting). Explorer under XP
and PC_Inspector_File_Recovery erreneously report corrupted FAT
partition (in fact it should NTFS) and thus scrumbles the data due to
lost tree information. When booting from DOS-disk, using a DOS tool to
make NTFS available under DOS I can see all trees and files correctly.
However, it is practically impossible for me to copy thousands of
files (10 GB) manually. I cannot copy directories unfortunately with
this tool (Active@ Partition Recovery 2.1).
I would need support on reconstructing treeinformation on the HD or
transfering the directories from the corrupted HD to my other HD.
I also managed to make an image of the corrupted HD to my other HD.
However, I have no cloue how to proceed with this 10GB file.
Thank you for your support. |
