Hello,

I'm looking to build and license exams that employers can use to rub
candidates in different fields.

Lets say the first phase is a suitable resume or a small set of
suitable resumes were selected from the pile of resumes at a
recruitement offer and they wanted to size up the candidates.

What sort of tests would be doable completely online to measure
elements in the different fields out there.

I would like to find test that can be either in their raw format and
then I'll take care of creating automated application out of them or
tests that can be licensed and presented under my clients' web site
without taking the candidate out of the site.

Priority is to those tests that are raw and with easy and appropriate
and easy to appreciate result analysis. The intention is to build an
automated version on a web site in the different career lines or
testing particular aspects of a candidate which are important to
employers as a form of premature rough feeling out process.

Typically, these test re-verify answers by rephrasing them and check
for contradiction and that's about it as far as to what I'll try to
bluff showing that I know what I'm talking about. Try and get me up
on the subject as I have been exposed at a high level to it.

If you give me good ideas in this area, that would strongly impact the
satisfaction meter. :-)

Good luck!

Is the IT field one of your targets? I ask because there are a higher
percentage of certification exams online for this field, narrowing the
search for such tests from the beginning. If your target is broader,
including such specialized fields as medicine, engineering,
accounting, etc. then search for specialized tests would also be
indicated.

I'm trying to get a better feel for the size and scope of the search
involved.

Hello Larre,

I'm not looking for certification exams, just tests. The scope of
careers is wide, not specific to IT, but inclusive.

The tests would be speciality specific and general or even social.
Some tests are to checkout your method of logical analysis, others to
see how you can handle large, but simple numbers, others would be in
the area of people management, time management, problem solving,
leadership, creativity and so on.

I hope you got the sort of tests I'm looking for?

Not yet, but now that I know what you're after, I'm fairly certain
that I'll be able to come up with suitable tests you can modify, and
offer you background in computer-aided-instruction and testing that
you can apply to this type of online service. You've happened upon
one of my areas of deep interest.

I'm working on it. --- l

The task turns out to be more separating wheat from chaff. The
majority of the tests available are duplicates or affiliate sites. I'm
still refining the list to those I believe you'll find most useful
and/or easily implemented, and locating the best source(s) for any you
might select. I'm going to grab a few hours sleep, and get a fresh
start with the sun.

Thanks for asking!

I've located a "short list" of HR General Assessment testing tools.
The tests range from paper and pencil to integrated online tests that
can be administered from your own website. The majority of firms
located through a search for assessment testing software are
consultancies, many selling the same products. Instead, I'll send you
as directly as possible to the original sources.

One of the most recent developments in the field of personality
testing in regard to employment related assessment is Wagner's new WAT
Inventory. There's not yet any commercial software available for
implementation of this instrument, however the background theory may
be of interest. The description of the test helps explain the concepts
that are central to acceptance of the validity of this, and other,
testing instruments.

I've tried to keep this response as concise as possible, however, in
my research, I have turned up additional sources. Rather than toss out
a grab bag of miscellaneous information that may, or may not, be
useful, I'd welcome further topic guidance after you've had the
opportunity to look over the mainstream resources above. I'll be happy
to provide more specialized or in-depth information about any areas
that you feel are particularly germane to your project, or to seek out
additional employment testing instruments in general or specialized
fields. We're not finished until you have everything you need.

Best regards,
