Can somebody please advise what happened to the lead character Tony
Martin from the Aus police drama series called "Wildside" and if there
is any
liklihood of either a repeat or another series?

Tony Martin has done a lot of work since Wildside.  He's acted in
films (including "Inspector Gadget 2", as noted in juggler-ga's
comment), on stage, and on television.
