director1 --

New York City currently suspends alternate side parking regulations,
for both street cleaning purposes and traffic flow, on 32 legal and
religious holidays. Below is a listing of those holidays, along with
the dates in 2003 in which they fall:

New Year's Day January 1, Wed
Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday January 20, Mon
Asian Lunar New Year February 1, Sat
Idul-Adha: First/Second/Third Day Feb 11-13, Tues- Wed-Thurs
Lincoln's Birthday February 12, Wed
Washington's Birthday (President's Day) February 17, Mon
Ash Wednesday March 5, Wed
Purim March 18, Tues
Passover: First/Second Day April 17-18, Thurs-Fri
Holy Thursday April 17, Thurs
Good Friday April 18, Fri

All Saints Day November 1, Sat
Election Day November 4, Tues

Immaculate Conception December 8, Mon
Christmas Day December 25, Thurs

The alternate side parking suspension information for 2004 will be
published later this year and the holidays observed for this purpose
could change. For example, for 2003 the City added three holidays to
the suspension calendar -- Purim, the Asian Lunar New Year and Ash
Wednesday.

I found this information at the website of the New York City
Department of Transportation. The site provides comprehensive
information about New York City parking regulations and also allows
the downloading of the suspension calendar directly into a Microsft
Outllook calendar program. Here is a link to the page containing the
calendar:

This private site provides a version of the calendar that is

Search Strategy

I ran a Google search using the following search terms:

"new york city" alternate parking
://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&q=%22new+york+city%22+alternate+parking

I am confident that this is the information you are seeking. If any
of the above is unclear, please ask for clarification before rating
the answer.
