Question ID: 219741
I'm after info on a Liberty ship I was aboard during the invasion of
Normandy at Utah Beachhead. I believe it was the s.s.Charles Fort.
Can you give me a list of the Liberty ships involved in this invasion?

Request for Question Clarification by thx1138-ga on 20 Jun 2003 13:24 PDT
Hello elwood796 and thank you for your question.

I have located a list of the liberty ships that participated in the
Normany landings of 6th June 1944, however it sems that none of the
200 liberty ships that participated were called Charles Fort. 8 of
the 200 Liberty ships have the word "Charles" in their name and none
have the word "Fort" in them.

Charles Fort was a Liberty ship but it seems it did not participate in
the landings.

Would you still like me to post the list as an answer?

Very best regards

I am also in contact with the National Liberty Ship Memorial to see if
they have any records regarding the Liberty ships that took part in
the Normandy landings, and in particular the Charles Fort.
