Dear Joymac,

There are several sites that list European artists. However, the
chances that "your" artists will be there depends on their level of
obscurity. Do you have names of the artists you're looking for?

The best source of bibliographies I have found is the collection of
Benezit books, 14 volumes...available at any good library. However,
they are written in French, so I copy the entry and translate it to
English on one of the many free translation sites on the web.

I hope this helps.

I have a Painting I pick up at a yardsale, It says "Kurtosne" on the
back. The painting was sold by an old lady, whom said It hung on her
wall as a child(she grew Up in Europe). Anyone know the value of his
work?

Waldemar Grechow, A.K.A. Wladimir Grechow, has a painting listed
online at this time called the Fox Hunt. The asking price is $1500.
I am also interested in this artist since I recently bought one of his
paintings at an estate auction for about $100, but I'm sure it is
worth much more. If anyone else has any information at all about this
artist, please let me know.

Thanks

To phipps-ga Regarding the painter "Kurtosne" if it is the same
person. I have quite q few paintings that I purchased from an Art
"Dealer" and I usually got a Bibliography on each of the Aritists. I
have two by this artist and I also have one by Waldemar Grechow.
Please E-mail me at my new address so that I can discuss this more
fully.
