How do I convert a VGA output from a normal video card in a PC to
display on a hitachi LMG9900ZWCC LCD screen that I've "extracted" from
an old laptop?

this clarification is more of a responce to a comment made by
haversian-ga.  in searching the internet for an answer to my question
i stumbled across this site before.  the problem is how do i get
one!!? is this another questions alltogether or do you know a site (or
place) that sells them.  please advise.

Connectors for these sorts of LCDs are usually proprietary... you'll
probably have to wire it directly using a VGA cable's pins...

You will need an interface circuit.  Typically the drive circuitry is
integrated into the device, be it a laptop or stand-alone LCD monitor.
 You may be able to find circuitry to drive your panel here:
