Hello purplefinch-ga, I should emphasize the disclaimer at the bottom of this page, which states that answers and comments on Google Answers are general information, and not intended to substitute for informed professional legal advice. If you need legal advice on this issue, you should consult an attorney licensed to practice law in Massachusetts. I have found the following Massachusetts regulations: "Department of Public Health - 105 CMR 410.000 - Minimum Standards of Fitness for Human Habitation" Code of Massachusetts Regulations http://www.lawlib.state.ma.us/cmr.html 105 CMR 410.550 (on page 13 of the PDF file) states that: "The owner of a dwelling containing two or more dwelling units shall maintain it and its premises free from all rodents, skunks, cockroaches and insect infestation and shall be responsible for exterminating them." It states the same thing for a "rooming house". The regulation also indicates how extermination shall be accomplished. I hope that this information is helpful. - justaskscott-ga Search strategy: Found Massachusetts statutes and regulations through FindLaw ( http://www.findlaw.com ) Browsed Massachusetts statutes and regulations |
