Hi YesMam:

You asked: "Do any internet grocers deliver to Essex and Hudson
counties in
northern New Jersey?"

I was rather surprised to find that there are only a few vendors in
that region that allow customers to place online food orders for home
delivery.

Here's what I came up with:

http://www.netgrocer.com/
is based in North Brunswick, NJ, and features a wide-range of
foodstuffs, just like a brick & mortar grocer. You can shop online and
have your groceries delivered to your door. Net Grocer appears to be
your best bet, by far.

You can buy herbs, dairy items, and fresh produce from Urban Organic,
at:
http://www.urbanorganic.net/UO1/delivery.asp
(This site also details the store's weekly delivery schedule in the
NY/NJ area.)

A master list of foods and beverages that can be ordered for home
delivery, can be found at:
http://new-jersey.uscity.net/Gift/Food-Drinks/

Among the vendors listed there is Schwan's, a nationwide food company,
and its homepage can be found at:
http://www.schwans.com/default.aspx?tb=1

Schwan's makes weekly home deliveries to customers (each neighborhood
gets its Schwan's deliveries the same day every week). You can shop
their Web site for foodstuffs -- many of which are pre-cooked --
ranging from main dishes to desserts like ice cream and roasted
apples. (I have had Schwan's products and they're very tasty.)

Schwan's zip code locator feature isn't working at the moment, but I
believe they deliver in the Essex and Hudson, NJ, area. To verify
that, contact them via their customer service dept. at:
http://www.schwans.com/customerService/CustomerServiceContactUs.aspx?tb=6
to double-check.

PeaPod is an online grocer currently serving only a few regions,
including CT and NYC, but not yet NJ. Keep checking Peapod's site:
http://www.peapod.com/index.jhtml?
opcoId=null&NUM1=1056242226411DHW3EVKGVM0TKCQBD0WCFEQ

as PeaPod is expanding and should eventually provide service in your
part of NJ.

Also keep on eye on Why Run Out:
http://www.whyrunout.com/

which is taking over from faltering online grocer WebVan, and which
may expand into Essex and Hudson counties, NJ.

Search Terms Used:

"grocery delivery Essex Hudson"

"Internet grocery NJ"

"online groceries New Jersey"

"'buy food online New Jersey"

I hope this information helps you!

Sincerely,

I have used both NetGrocer and Schwan's for years. I highly recommend both.

Glad I could help, YesMam. And a shout-out to my good buddy PinkFreud
for vouching for the quality of some of these vendors.
