i really don't know how to phrase my question but here it goes:
i'm working on a technological project of mine and i found out i need
a piece of equipment that i couldn't find anywhere.basicaly what i
need is a little transformer that works on gas and generates
electrical current( i need it in place of batteries coz they won't do
the job).in one word : an alternative source of power other than
batteries ( but that can replace them ).i guess i need something that
lasts long , coz with my project the batteries will be drained in 10
seconds. i really hope u can help me . thank you. |

Howdy freestyler!
It might help researchers if you could provide some
details on the power needed; volts, amperage, for how
long it needs to run before recharging/refueling,
size/weight restrictions, if sunlight or windpower
would be an option, and so on.
For instance, I know of a propane powered generator
that would provide power to a house for a week or so,
but that would need an area of around 8' by 8' by 4'
for the equipment, etc.

hey guys thanx for the help.well the thing is that i really don't need
that much power.the fuel used is called GLOW , that's what they told
me.and the voltage is 12v , amps are around 2000 mah.it should last
like 1 hour max and shouldn't exceed the size of a battery pack (
probably the size of your palm without the little fuel tank ).hhmm i
guess i won't be using wind or solar power since i'm operating
indoors.i really hope this helps u guys.

It would help if you could give us a good idea on the equipment that
you will connect to this alternative power source. Will it be a lot of
computers or special equipment (like, say, a printing press)? Maybe
you could list the equipment if they weren't too many. If you can,
give some volt-amperage or watt consumption information too.

hey folks
well the project is kinda of a miniature industrial machine . a belt
is powered by a chaft powered by an electric motor to which i can
connect 8 aa batteries or a battery pack ( i put stuff on the belt top
be carried into multiple sections of the machine ) . but 8 aa 2000 mah
batteries ( which are pretty strong ) will drain in like 30 secs. so i
said something working on gas that will provide electric current will
last way longer.so the voltage is 12v and the amps are around 2000
milliamperes ( or 2 amperes ).hmm i really donnow about watts i didn't
think of that aspect. but i'll be more than happy to give u guys more
info if u need .

Sounds like a conveyor belt. If that machine brings products on a
moving belt to another component for doing something (say grinding,
pressing, etc.), it's a conveyor. I admit though I was surprised to
see that the machine's motor runs on AA-size batteries. It seems that
the motor runs on DC power. Do you have any manual on the machine that
tells you about its power requirements? Perhaps you could replace the
motor component of that machine.
Maybe what you mean by transformer would be an AC/DC converter, which
converts AC (Alternating Current) power from the electrical socket
into DC (Direct Current) which is like battery power. Could that be
it?
