I need to write a needs assessment on a restaurant! What is a 'needs
assessment' and how do we compose one for a restaurant.? May i get a
sample restaurant nees assessment

     I was able to find what you requested on my first search. After
reading the requirements, it makes good sense.

Information that is reviewed:
  
 (Copy of information) Current 2002 Chart of Accounts  
 (Copy of information) Year-end 2001 P&L Statement  
 (Copy of information) Daily Specials, Catering Menus if any. 
 (Copy of information) A recent Restaurant Daily Sales Report, along
with a copy of each report that the management is responsible to give
accounting daily or weekly
 (Copy of information) One typical employee and management weekly work
schedule
 (Can be viewed during on-site visit) Review all end of day and
operational reports that are currently being utilized from POS or Cash
Register system.
 (Can be viewed during on-site visit) Last month’s inventory
worksheets for food, soft beverage and alcohol related products
 (Can be viewed during on-site visit) All written training material
such as position training, testing & employee policy handbook.

Our Needs Assessment includes

 Reviewing and analyzing the above information and materials. 
 Minimum of 1-2 onsite visit(s).  
 Meeting with the management and owners, accounting manager and/or any
other key staff.
 Report outlining our observations, reviewed information and
recommendations.
 Detailed consulting proposal outlining suggested action steps and
related costs to have Profit Strategies & Solutions, Inc. implement.

I noticed while searching that there are several restaurant specific
software packages available that would probably help in all areas of
your business. There are also restaurant associations that offer help
to small businesses online.
