The way editorial cartoonists work probably prohibits them from accepting ideas from outside sources. They work fast and under deadline and don't have much time to coordinate freelance gag men. Other cartoonists...those who do syndicated comic strips very often use outside writers although many of them retain staff writers nowadays. In the old days it was very common for cartoonists to accept jokes from freelance gag writers (much like the old stand-up comics who would buy joke for a few bucks) |

It sounds like you should just teach yourself to draw. After some practice (and maybe a course or two), your drawing probably won't be worse than some of the editorial cartoonists already working! |
