Detailed list of current VISA and MasterCard interchange fees per type of business

Hello rdener and thank you for your question.

I have found 2 documents from different organizations that list
Interchange rates. In the first the Visa section lists 22 types of
products (ie. supermarket purchase, hotel lodging etc) and in the
Mastercard section there are 27 categories. In the second document,
the list is substantially the same type of information although the
percentages vary slightly.

Are the number and type of categories what you are looking for?

Very best regards

Further clarification:

The list should show the VISA and Mastercard interchange fees per
business and per country (often called domestic interchange fees). So
the number of business you have identified as 22 might be correct but
it should also include each country. Thus the list must be quite big.

Thank you for considering that as well.

Best regards

Hello again rdener and thank you for your clarifications.

I´m afraid I´m going to have to gracefully back out of answering your
question as I simply don't know enough about the interchange fee
system. However here is some information you might find useful, it
should also help any other researcher who might take on your question.

The current VISA and MasterCard interchange fees per type of business
came in to force on April 1st 2003.

"MasterCard and Visa Rate Changes (added March 2003)
New MasterCard and Visa interchange fees became effective April 1,
2003. These rate changes will affect agencies utilizing both
face-to-face and non-face-to-face programs to accept these card
types."

A full list of tables is available here:
http://www.tax.state.ny.us/evta/download_rate_schedules.htm

But some of the information you require is contained in the first part
of this document:
http://www.tax.state.ny.us/evta/Documents/Global_Contract_Appendix_D.pdf

It might be a good idea to keep an eye on the home page of the sites
above as the latest news is published there.

Good luck in your venture!

Very best regards

Thanks for your research and answer. Unfortunately the information you
have provided is not exactly what I was looking for. As mentioned
before it is important for me to have a listing of interchange fees
per country and business type as described in my earlier
clarification.

Evlt. one of your colleagues might find the requested detailed info.

Best regards

rdener
