I know there are Teaching English as a foreign language courses in the
UK but can you do short ones?

I would like a recognised qualification but want to do it intensively
over the summer eg a four week course. Does one exist? If so is there
one in the Bradford or Leeds area this summer?

Have you checked out the Leeds Metropolitan University? They appear to
offer a 4 week course in TEFL.

something like that looks fine, if it is taught over the summer, I
guess I'll just have to check it out.

I really want to know the types of qualifications that you can get.
There seem to be professional qualifications like RSA/CTEFLA,TESOL(?)
what qualification would a short, eg four week, course give? Is that
universal and acceptable? I want to go to a country like Poland and
earn a bit of money as a classroom assistant, eg letting the students
try out their english etc for a year. I don't want to invest a load of
time in learning something.
