tcs --

Just to let you know that I sent an e-mail this morning to someone who
may be able to provide a lead to further information. (I had
previously found the limited information that has been posted above by
the commenter.) I will let you know if I get a helpful reply.

Thanks to all. My friend (age 71, a sax player) used to play with him
in Japan at 1950s and he wanted to know his info.
Porter was a member of the military band at that time. You can find
from military related database (if it exsists ;-)

I have had an initial reply to my e-mail for information about
"Schoolboy" Porter. Unfortunately, it looks like not much more is
known about his life than appears on this website, which I had located
earlier:
The Chance Label

My correspondent is going to call a Chicago musician who played with
Porter in the 50s and is still active, so at least some more
information may be forthcoming. I'll let you know what he turns up,
and post an answer if it turns out to be a satisfactory response to
your question.
