Ok, this is going to be difficult to explain well enough to get an
answer. When I was an adolescent I read a series of perhaps 3 books,
by Mary or Margaret someone. I seem to recall they were set after some
kind of war, or military coup, probably a war and a coup in England,
also a castle in Germany. I can't remember who the main character was
(a boy or a girl) but the other characters included Wolf (who died,
then came back as a ghost for the...boy I think), Fox who I believe
took up the mantle of leadership after Wolf's death, and Hans, a
German obviously (who flew in a helicopter). Apart from vague
impressions of military convoys being ambushed in the hills etc, and
military police raiding a house in the main character's childhood I am
unclear on the plot. I get the feeling that I maybe read it a bit
younger than the age it was aimed at.

Around what time did you read it? 70's, 80's, 90's? Any idea on who
the publisher could be? How about the cover art, do you remember it?

I read it around 1980. No idea of the publisher (or the books' names).
