Dear resilient-ga;

Thank you for allowing me an opportunity to answer your interesting
question.

Almost every type of tie-down and strap is available through BUNGEECO

http://www.bungeeco.com/homefrm.html?products.html~mainFrame

This is the company that makes Bungee cords, cargo straps, tie-downs,
etc., from a variety of materials including rubber, canvas, nylon and
other composites. They also offer a variety of fastening solutions
(hooks, fasteners, etc) to suit almost any purpose.

There are, of course, a multitude of other sources for Bungees, as you
can see by using this search strategy. You might even get lucky and
find one locally:

GOOGLE: BUNGEE CORDS

I hope you find that that my research exceeds your expectations. If
you have any questions about my research please post a clarification
request prior to rating the answer. I welcome your rating and your
final comments and I look forward to working with you again in the
near future. Thank you for bringing your question to us.

Best regards;
Tutuzdad-ga

Hello there - Thanks for the speedy response. I already know about
Bungee cords, so while your response was okay, if you could have been
/ could still be a little more focused about what other companies
specifically handle securement products that *keep trailer doors
open*, that would be better. Thanks and have a good afternoon

It isn't possible to know what you already know unless you specify it
in advance. Let's begin again shall we?

Please tell me *exactly* what you are looking for, what you hope to
achieve, what type of trailer you are planning to use the straps on,
and in what geographic region you are located.

Also, any other bits of information that I have no way of knowing
would also be particularly helpful before I begin to search further.

Normally, the procedure is to post a clarification request prior to
rating the answer if you wish to continue the search in hopes of
finding an suitable answer. Researchers will work with you when you do
this and continue to look for material to your satisfaction. I see
that you have now closed and rated the question however, so I wish you
luck in future searches for this item.

Hello Again - No problem, I am looking for stapping material that is
made specifically to secure trailer doors (so they remain open and
don't flap around during loading/unloading). Sure, Bungee might have
something that could be used in a pinch, but I wondered if there was
something made specifically for truck doors (48 + 52 footers that
handle forest products in Alabama, but the locale is not impt). If
Bungee is the best source, that's fine and I'll make do, but if you
know of anything specifically made to secure truck doors, I'm
listening. Thanks and have a good afternoon

As I mentioned, by rating the answer as opposed to working toward a
clarification, you have effectively closed this question. I believe
that BungeeCo is probably your best option but if I run across some
other option I'll let you know. Alternatively you might choose to
repost another question and see if someone else can come up with a
better solution.

Resilient-ga:

If you are wanting more help, I respectfully suggest that you post a
new question. By giving a mediocre rating to tutuzdad-ga without even
giving him a chance to respond to your request for more options, you
effectively slammed the door on him. When researchers post statements
like "If you have any questions about my research please post a
clarification request prior to rating the answer", it is obviously
their hope that they will be permitted to respond to a clarification
request before a rating is given. Ratings, once assigned, can never be
changed. By rating an answer, you are essentially saying that you are
finished with the researcher.

Keep in mind also that, since you have selected a rock-bottom price
for your question, you can expect a very brief answer, not a
comprehensive search of the field with a discussion of alternatives.

Hello - My apologies. This is the first time I have used this service
and I did not know that one was not supposed to rank the answer until
the end. I was satisfied with the answer received and simply asked if
there was better info available. I'm sorry that I rated too quickly -
actually, I thought 3 out of 5 was a good rating! Oh well, live and
learn. Thanks and best wishes
